hello all

This week is all about TEAM WORK… so things may have been very hard and frustrating these past weeks… but this week it all changes… this week we remember we like each other and that we are all making something together!

there is 4 aims of this week and they are big ones but we can do it cos we are good!

Aim 1: GET A SHOP- this will be every weeks aim till we manage to find one… so martin and jack maybe dedicated hour or two a day to this.

Aim 2: Make 200 products- this means cardboard collecting… 3 days this week.. at least 2 people each time (we need to get cardboard for party as well)

and for this week product printing is a job for me, Jack and Martin! woo making.. yay!

Aim 3: Website complete- this is a job for Ash and I- but I will need your guys support to get me images and input.. etc.

Aim 4: MAKE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL Mooshie Taboo products!- this is under the capable hands of Ellie and Mr Patrick… but they will need support and encouragement… like ‘you can do it’ and ‘push it’ and well I imagine a Rocky movie montage with sweat running down Ellie’s face as Patrick, her coach shouts slogans at her.

I propose meet at 10am studio 5 for a quick plan the week’s output… whose who… whats what… any questions.. affair.. then get on have some fun and work real hard.

sound good?

and I was thinking

Monday-work hard from 10am then all go home at 5.30 and have time to ourselves…

Tuesday- 10 or 11 then meet for lunch then more sexy work then to  jacks for ironing T-shirts… dinner… make together then to buffalo.. we can figure best way round this and where.

Wednesday- work in studio till like 630- lots of printing and cutting and fun… then patrick for ironing, sewing labels and meeting… all eat there!

Thursday- long day at uni then home for me time? dinner alone.. candle lit

Friday… finish it… sleep and then

ELLIE WILL BE BACK.. YAY.

Ellie KP don’t think you are forgotten your AIM: have fun, get drunk and do many things I wouldn’t do… that will be hard cos I eat food off train floors and pretend to be a bird in airports… have a great time!

Things not to worry about this week..

design products- next week we can get back on that!

the budget.. beyond what I will do.. but again next week must get this tidy and all sorted!

the event ‘Shop’ … figuring it out and all those concerns other than getting a space.. gonna have a meeting

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK?

Today I had my new unit introduction: “articulating time and space”, the artists’ Julia showed us were pretty inspriational so I’m really looking forward to getting into the research. But the tutors were bang on with the feedback I got today with suggesting I get making as soon as I can into the project. OutsideIN wise- I need to find a way of fitting ’shop’ into my uni requirements, I will mull it over…

Fred and I met up with Clare Chapman (arts and events) today, she was really helpful, it’s really useful having someone onboard who has arts and events expertise- it’s all about course collaboration! Using all of our knowledge and bringing it together. In the meeting we covered the ’shop’ budget, and the cardboard house party; budget, DJ’s, sound systems, and sourcing cardboard. She suggested we contacted Celia from Stitch, who she reckons sources lots of recycled cardboard. So I’ve contacted her via Facebook. She also suggested we contact Hannah Ford, who put on House of trash last year in a disused shop, she could have some helpful pointers on health and safety and logistics of using that kind of space. So i have emailed her.

Hopefully this week we might hear something back from BBC Radio Solent, if not I reckon we should give them a call and see what’s going on. I also think it’s pretty important we get make sure we are setting up the presentations for the other departments so we can get people with other skills onboard with the project. Oo! and Vicky Wareham mentioned Matt Kay as one of our possible contacts- cardboard artist wise? we must chase that up.

Have also added the Stitch and Beat Redemption details (the bits we know about) to the calendar.

Writing all that makes me feel like I’ve had a productive day!

But I must water the plants they don’t look so happy- sorry Ellie!

Which is lovely jubbly for our pocket. However, still waiting on Clare Chapman from arts and events to get back to us with help with the Carboard House Party and details on tickets, alcohol pricing and selling… will keep you updated

This week I hope to:

  • have the party budget and details to a fine T
  • design the tickets (and maybe print them?)
  • Write my profile for the website (why am I dreading it?)
  • Bug Martin about Vis Com
  • Design and build a model structure for the Elton fine art/architecture colloboration project
  • Blog about all the research I’ve been doing

Until then… x (elzie)
