London Heathrow Airport February 2009 was the first time we worked together as a group, testing what we could achieve together.
We were stuck in Terminal 5
a thick layer of snow covered the ground outside
surrounded by the same strangers and adverts on big screens
for many hours
we set out to see what we could create with the materials we could get hold of at the airport.
Newspapers were the most readily available material we could shape for our needs. The papers began to take the form of a tent, this naturally occurred due to our situation. We were on a school trip, trapped somewhere with no hope of rescue. So we pretended we were camping out, turning our position of limbo in the airport terminal into a purposeful settlement. The surrounding crowds came to see it and smiled as the waited to get refunds and reschedule flights.
